As of October 1st, we have entered a goverment shutdown. Change and uncertaincy can be scary, from federal services and travel to benefits and paychecks. As a pillar of your community, it is our job to make sure you are taken care of and have the resources you need. Linked below are two helpful articles that break down what a shutdown means, who is affected, and what you can expect.

Puyallup and Sumner share city borders and a long history of business partnerships dating back to the late 1800’s.

Local schools, colleges and universities produce a highly sought after skilled workforce in fields like technology, health sciences, robotics, supply chain logistics and more to meet regional employment needs. Manufacturing and distribution centers are centrally located in the valley for access to ports, SeaTac airport and interstate freight corridors.

Both Puyallup and Sumner have a thriving auto sales industry, as well as a busy retail sector which contribute to substantial sales tax revenues which fund vital downtowns and public services. Tourism is also a major industry here. Puyallup hosts 2.5 million visitors each year to the Washington State Fair and other events at the fairgrounds.

The Puyallup Sumner Chamber is committed to being The Champion of Business in our communities.

Our mission is to foster economic development and provide learning opportunities for our members.

Through a working partnership with all levels of government and community organizations, we provide an environment for our members to prosper, and we implement programs to grow new leaders that will help grow our cities and region.

Puyallup is rooted, literally, in a rich agricultural heritage. The city was named after the Native American tribe, the Puyallup, which means “generous and welcoming behavior to all people (friends and strangers) who enter our lands”.

Member Testimonials

Blue Spacer Bar
The Puyallup Sumner Chamber of Commerce would be the first stop I would make if I were to open a new business. The chamber creates opportunities for building solid networks between industries and connects businesses with potential customers, across both Puyallup and Sumner. Since being involved with the chamber I’ve not only grown a professional network, I’ve also consistently been updated on new legislation with potential impacts on my line of work. Additionally, I’ve noticed an increase in engagement with other businesses that I typically wouldn’t have encountered; resulting in solid mutual relationships.
