Wake Up at Mel Korum Family YMCA

This morning’s Wake Up brought us to the Mel Korum Family YMCA in South Hill, a cornerstone of our community.

While many of us can’t help but hum “it’s fun to stay at the Y‑M‑C‑A,” the organization’s work goes far beyond the familiar tune. The YMCA is more than a gym. It’s a hub for growth and support. Members have access to group exercise classes, child watch services, youth programs, summer camps, swim lessons, and countless opportunities to stay active and engaged.

As a pillar in the community, the Mel Korum Family YMCA lives out its mission of “building a healthy future for all.” This year alone, they raised an impressive $130,000 through their annual campaign and have awarded $337,957 in scholarships to date.

We’re grateful to the Mel Korum Family YMCA for welcoming us and giving our members a deeper look into the work they do to strengthen our region. If you’re ready to get involved, explore membership options on their website: https://www.ymcapkc.org/locations/mel-korum-family-ymca
